Special Bauspar law provides maximum security

The backbone of the Bauspar system is legislation. In Germany, customers are protected by the Bausparkassengesetz – the Building and Loan Associations Act – which is the law that regulates contractual saving institutions. This law stipulates exactly how such institutions can invest money, as well as how risks are required to be limited and monitored. The law also provides clear instructions concerning the ways the funds are permitted to be used. All of the requirements imposed by law protect the savers as a community, known as the “home savers collective”, since the primary goal of this special savings system is to create maximum security for customers’ deposits. Also in each other countries where Bausparen runs successful, a special law regulates the specifics of the Bauspar business to secure the customers and the system.

Bausparen has proven successful for over 90 years. One essential reason is the fact that Bausparen is secured by special legal regulations.
